M Group Services has secured a £119 million contract from Transport for London to maintain hundreds of bridges and structures across the capital's transport network over the next five years.
The deal makes M Group the primary contractor responsible for inspecting, repairing and renewing road bridges, underpasses, footbridges and other critical infrastructure that millions of Londoners rely on daily.
The contract covers routine maintenance schedules and emergency repairs designed to extend the lifespan of ageing structures whilst avoiding costlier interventions down the line. Much of London's transport infrastructure dates back decades and faces mounting pressure from growing population and traffic volumes.
M Group Services will deploy specialist teams to manage the extensive portfolio, focusing on proactive maintenance to prevent disruption and ensure public safety. The work directly affects commuters, pedestrians, cyclists and motorists who use these structures every day.
The five-year agreement provides TfL with a stable framework for long-term infrastructure planning at a time when maintaining existing assets has become a priority for cities worldwide. Well-maintained bridges and structures are fundamental to London's economic functioning and transport reliability.
The investment underscores TfL's commitment to preserving the capital's transport infrastructure, with the partnership expected to bring specialised expertise to keep London's bridges fit for purpose for years ahead.
