Transport for London (TfL) has cancelled enforcement action related to four unpaid ULEZ fines after bailiffs attempted to seize goods from a Blackpool resident. The individual was pursued for penalties linked to a vehicle they had never owned.
The issue began two months prior when the resident received enforcement notices from CDER Group. Despite confirmation from the DVLA that the vehicle was not registered to them, TfL reportedly rejected this evidence and instructed CDER Group to continue enforcement.
It was later discovered that the credit reference agency TransUnion had incorrectly merged a stranger's credit report with the resident's, leading tracing agents to their address. TfL, also responding for CDER, has since apologised and cancelled the enforcement action. CDER Group has paid £500 in compensation for the distress caused.
