Millions of Londoners face severe travel disruption this Easter weekend as Transport for London implements major engineering works across the network from Good Friday to Easter Monday.
The Central Line will shut completely between Leytonstone and Hainault, with partial closure between West Ruislip/North Acton and Ealing Broadway/White City. The District Line faces closure between South Kensington and East Ham, and between Tower Hill and West Ham, affecting journeys across east and west London.
London Overground services will be suspended between Euston and Watford Junction, New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon, Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction, and Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside. Passengers will need to use replacement bus services or alternative rail connections.
The Elizabeth Line will run a reduced service, whilst DLR services face minor adjustments. Tram services will operate normally, providing a reliable option for south London travellers.
TfL warns that central London roads will be busier than usual around popular attractions, with drivers urged to allow extra journey time. The planned works form part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades designed to improve long-term reliability and capacity across the capital's transport network.
Passengers are strongly advised to check routes before travelling using TfL's journey planner and real-time service updates available on the website and mobile app throughout the bank holiday weekend.
