Londoners face significant disruptions to Tube and rail services this Easter weekend as Transport for London carries out essential engineering works across the capital's transport network.
The Bakerloo line will be closed between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone for maintenance, whilst sections of the Elizabeth Line will see no services between Paddington and Abbey Wood on certain days. Reduced services will operate elsewhere on the line.
The planned works coincide with the bank holiday weekend when thousands of families typically travel across London to visit relatives or tourist attractions. TfL is urging passengers to check the official website or app before travelling.
Central London roads are expected to face heavy congestion as Easter events and attractions draw larger crowds. Bus services and the Docklands Light Railway will largely run normal schedules, though some local diversions may be in place for road closures or special events.
The engineering works are deliberately scheduled during the quieter bank holiday period to reduce long-term disruption. However, many passengers will need alternative travel arrangements over the weekend.
TfL advises checking journey planners and allowing extra travel time. Real-time updates will be available through the organisation's digital platforms to help passengers navigate any unexpected changes or delays.
