The Real Greek, a UK-based Greek cuisine restaurant chain, has confirmed it will be closing nine of its locations across the country. This decision comes after the organisation struck a rescue deal with The Karali Group following a near-collapse into administration.
The closures will affect over 150 employees, with four locations in London alone set to shut down. These venues include sites in Dulwich Village, Spitalfields, and The Strand. The remaining locations will continue to operate as usual.
The Real Greek has been a staple of the UK dining scene since its founding in 2000. Despite the closures, the organisation remains committed to providing high-quality Greek cuisine to its customers.
Under UK consumer law, employees affected by the closures are entitled to redundancy pay and notice periods. The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) advises employees to seek immediate support from their local Jobcentre Plus or Citizens Advice.
The closures are set to take place over the coming months, with affected employees receiving support and guidance from the organisation during this time.
