Thomas Carty Falls Out of Ring, Heavyweight Bout Declared No Contest

The heavyweight bout between Thomas Carty and Dave Allen at Croke Park was declared a no contest after Irish favourite Carty fell out of the ring in the first round. The incident occurred during the chief support fight for Katie Taylor’s final career bout.

The fight concluded after just one minute and 22 seconds. Allen connected with a right hand to the back of Carty's head, leading to the Dublin southpaw tumbling through the ropes and onto the floor.

Carty received medical attention, including oxygen for several minutes, before walking back to the changing room. The fight was subsequently abandoned, leaving Allen, a 34-year-old from Doncaster, and the 80,000-strong crowd reportedly bemused by the abrupt ending.
