Three arrested after fatal crash in Stanmore leaves bus driver with life-changing injuries

Three men have been arrested following a collision in north-west London that resulted in the death of a car driver and serious injuries to a bus driver.

  • A 25-year-old car driver died at the scene in Honeypot Lane, Stanmore.
  • A 44-year-old bus driver sustained life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital.
  • Three men, aged 25, 26, and 51, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Three men have been arrested after a car driver was killed and a bus driver suffered life-changing injuries in a crash in north-west London. Metropolitan Police officers were called to Honeypot Lane in Stanmore late on Sunday night.

The 25-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, aged 44, was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-changing.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A 51-year-old man was later arrested for the same offence. All three remain in custody.

Acting Det Insp Fiaz Janjua stated that the Met is working to "build a full picture of this incident." The next of kin of the man who died have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. The road remained closed at the junction of Cumberland Road in both directions on Monday.
