Curry's career began in theatre in the 1960s, leading to his breakthrough as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'. He was also the first actor to portray Pennywise the clown in the 1990 film adaptation of Stephen King's 'It'. His other notable roles included appearances in 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York' and 'Muppet Treasure Island'.
In recent years, Curry had largely remained out of the public eye following a stroke in 2012 that required brain surgery. Last year, he released his biography, 'Vagabond', in which he disclosed that he was unable to walk.
