Actor Tom Cruise described the Prince and Princess of Wales as "charismatic" following their attendance at the premiere of his latest film, Digger. William and Kate were present at the central London screening on Tuesday, which also served as a royal film performance.
Cruise, 64, was joined on the black carpet by figures including Sir David Beckham and actor Riz Ahmed. Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Cruise remarked that he had enjoyed having the royals there, describing the couple as "amazing" and "charismatic." During the premiere, Cruise also commented "great jacket" as William approached him wearing a double-breasted velvet tuxedo jacket.
Kate wore a purple, floor-sweeping Jenny Packham dress, accessorised with Diana, Princess of Wales’s earrings and the Queen Mother’s amethyst sautoir necklace. Cruise also discussed the extensive prosthetic transformation he underwent for Digger, stating, "none of that is me." He explained that the make-up process was reduced from six hours to one.
In Digger, Cruise plays an oil tycoon whose company causes an ecological disaster, leading to a mission to save humanity. The film also stars Sandra Huller, Riz Ahmed, and Jesse Plemons. Digger is scheduled for release in cinemas on October 2.
