Tomlinson Report, dropped by Blair government, expected to be implemented 'eventually'

The Tomlinson report, published in 2004, was commissioned by the Blair government but was not implemented. Michael Pyke of the Campaign for State Education referred to the report in a letter on 30 July.

Colin Flint, a former FE college principal, recounted meeting Mike Tomlinson approximately a year after the report was dropped. Flint expressed regret that the report had not been implemented, to which Tomlinson reportedly replied: "It will be, eventually."
