Tottenham and Aston Villa are both under pressure as they seek their first Premier League victory of the season today. Spurs currently sit 17th with two points, while Villa are 19th with one point.
Tottenham has struggled to convert opportunities, taking 3.97 touches per shot in the box, the highest figure in the Premier League. They have also failed to score a league goal in their opening four games, a run of six hours without finding the net.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi has made 12 changes to Tottenham's starting XI across the opening four league games, more than any other team. Despite a recent loss to Liverpool, De Zerbi stated, “I think we are going to win many games and score many goals.”
Aston Villa, who have scored only once in the league, arrive with some encouragement after beating Coventry in the Carabao Cup midweek. Unai Emery’s side has also won four of their last five meetings with Spurs.
Pedro Porro and Sandro Tonali return to Tottenham's starting line-up for today's match. Conor Gallagher, who scored in the Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool, drops to the bench.
