Tottenham Hotspur have made a shrewd move in the transfer market by signing Martin Dubravka, a veteran goalkeeper with a wealth of Premier League experience. The Slovakia international joins on a free transfer from Burnley, where he concluded his tenure at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
Dubravka's acquisition is a clear vote of confidence in Antonin Kinsky, who has impressed since rebounding from a difficult performance against Atletico Madrid in March. The 37-year-old will provide crucial support and competition for Kinsky, who is set to assume the number one jersey with Italy international Guglielmo Vicario understood to be departing this summer.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, Dubravka stated: 'It's an exciting time for me, a new journey and new experience for me and my family. I'm looking forward to it.' He added: 'I've loved watching (boss) Roberto (De Zerbi)'s teams over the years and know all about his style, vision and the fantastic fans here.'
Tottenham have also been linked with West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, with positive talks reportedly taking place between the two clubs over a potential £85 million transfer. The Hammers' relegation from the top flight has seen Fernandes become a prime target for several Premier League clubs.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi commented on his new signing, stating: 'I am very happy because Martin is a goalkeeper with big experience and a strong mentality. He has very important qualities for me and will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to our dressing room.'
Dubravka's arrival brings a much-needed boost to Tottenham's goalkeeping options, and he is expected to gain opportunities in domestic cup competitions for the club.
