The Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) has today, 5 October 2026, published an independent research report evaluating its investigation process. The report, prepared by Savanta, an independent research agency, is based on insights gathered from TRA external stakeholders and staff.
The research agency developed five recommendations for the TRA. These include personalising onboarding with clear, plain-English information and named contacts, and tailoring evidence requests to align with an organisation's size and capacity where possible. Other recommendations suggest enhancing progress updates, embedding accessibility in the digital platform, and expanding staff training.
The TRA has previously committed to addressing stakeholder feedback, particularly regarding its digital Trade Remedies Service (TRS) platform and business engagement. An updated TRS was launched in June 2026 to improve usability and system functionality. The TRA also received a strategic steer from the UK Government in December 2025, focusing on a simpler, faster, and more responsive trade remedies system.
