Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has shared an anecdote about a past tour experience where he and bandmate Tom DeLonge smoked with Cypress Hill before a live show. Barker recounted the event during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, stating that he and DeLonge spent the entire performance wishing they could go home.
Barker explained that while he rarely performs under the influence, he made an exception during the last show of a tour with No Doubt and Cypress Hill. Rappers B-Real and Sen Dog from Cypress Hill reportedly convinced Barker and DeLonge to smoke with them, with Barker agreeing after being told they would be heading home immediately after the gig.
Describing the experience, Barker said, "Dude, let me tell you, it was the longest fucking show. The songs felt like they lasted forever." He added that DeLonge approached him mid-show, saying, "I want to go home," to which Barker responded, "Me too. It was so awful." He also noted that bassist Mark Hoppus was sober and unaware of his bandmates' struggles. Barker concluded, "Smoking before shows is not my thing."
