US President Donald Trump hosted an event titled the "Golden Age of American Innovation summit" on Thursday at the Donald J Trump Institute of Peace in Washington. The event saw the president present awards to several prominent figures in the technology sector.
Among those honoured were SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, Advanced Micro Devices head Lisa Su, Microsoft supremo Satya Nadella, and Dell Technologies chief executive Michael Dell. Five of the six tech leaders who received awards are immigrants.
During the ceremony, President Trump also received his late uncle, Dr. John Trump's, National Medal of Science, which was presented to him by Michael Kratsios, director of the White House office of science and technology policy.
