  • The administration will no longer recommend hepatitis B, Covid-19, and influenza shots for children.

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order in the Oval Office to split the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine into three separate shots. The President stated, “You should have five separate visits for vaccines rather than giving them all in the same day.”

Additionally, the Trump administration will no longer recommend hepatitis B, Covid-19, and influenza shots for children. President Trump commented on the historical number of vaccines, suggesting a link between current inoculation rates and autism, despite there being no proven connection between vaccines and an increased risk of autism.

Previous attempts to overhaul the immunization schedule, suggested by the advisory committee on immunization practices (ACIP) earlier this year, were blocked by a federal judge. These latest changes are expected to face further legal challenges.
