Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man who fell from a balcony in Salford.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) stated that officers were called to reports of a man falling at flats on Liverpool Street shortly after midnight on Saturday. The man died later that night.
One man, initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has now been arrested on suspicion of murder. A second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder.
GMP confirmed the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because the men had earlier contact with police. An IOPC spokesperson said investigators were sent to police post-incident procedures in Manchester in assessment mode to gather further information and will assess a GMP referral.
