Two senior Reform UK officials have stepped down as the party investigates claims about its funding, which were aired in a Channel 4 News report. Nigel Farage's senior aide, Dan Jukes, and Reform's head of policy, James Orr, have both stood down pending the outcome of the internal probe, according to the party.
The Channel 4 report, broadcast on Thursday night, included undercover filming that reportedly showed Mr Jukes suggesting a method to circumvent electoral law to secure a foreign donation of £500,000 for the party. Electoral law stipulates that permissible donors to a UK political party must be UK registered voters or UK-registered companies.
Reform UK has denied any wrongdoing, stating it has "been the target of a hoax perpetuated by foreign funded climate change activists." A party spokesman indicated that no further comment would be made while the investigation is ongoing, emphasising the importance of the probe proceeding independently.
