Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are set to meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11, following months of negotiations. This heavyweight showdown, described as over a decade in the making, will be screened on Netflix at no additional cost for subscribers.
The fight is scheduled for the early hours of Saturday morning, with ring walk times yet to be finalised. Turki Alalshikh, a Saudi boxing powerbroker, announced the details have been resolved for the two British heavyweights to collide.
Initial proposals for the fight included a November date at Wembley Stadium and later New York. Negotiations were complicated by each fighter having separate agreements with Sela, the Saudi state-owned promotional company financing the event, which stipulated different locations for their first meeting.
One key element that remains outstanding is arranging any necessary changes to the Principality Stadium’s premises license.
