Uber has sold its entire stake in Serve Robotics, the autonomous delivery robot company that spun out of the ride-hailing firm over five years ago. The disclosure was made in a regulatory filing.
Serve Robotics reportedly learned of the final sell-off once it was officially disclosed, according to a source familiar with the events. Uber had reduced its stake in 2025, suggesting its exit had been developing for at least a year.
The divestiture comes as the two companies have started to diverge on the business side. Serve Robotics co-founder and CEO Ali Kashani stated last week that delivery volume through Uber's app reversed its growth trend in Q2 2026, attributed to lower-than-expected robot utilisation.
Kashani also noted on an August 6 call that the companies have "differing views" on the operating model for scaling their shared autonomous fleet. Serve does not expect to renew its partnership agreement with Uber when it expires in early 2027.
