Heavy rain is expected to hit most parts of the UK, with England set to bear the brunt, where some areas may see up to 50mm of rain in just 24 hours. In Scotland, the Highlands and Islands are predicted to be the worst-hit regions, with winds reaching speeds of up to 60mph and heavy rain leading to potential flooding.
Wales and Northern Ireland can also expect significant rainfall, with low-lying areas at risk of flooding according to the Met Office. Although temperatures will remain relatively mild, with highs of around 12C (54F) forecast across the country, the torrential rain and strong winds are expected to make for unpleasant conditions.
No major incidents have been reported so far, but the Met Office has urged people to stay vigilant and be prepared for any flooding or disruptions. 'We are closely monitoring the situation and will issue further updates as necessary,' said a Met Office spokesperson.
