The UK has strongly condemned the escalating violence across the West Bank, according to a statement from Minister Doughty on 30 July 2026. The statement highlighted recent attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian villages and communities, as well as violent incidents in response.
Specific incidents mentioned include arson attacks against mosques in Qusra and Kour, and lethal incidents in Deir Jarir, Beit Furik, and Tel, where both Israelis and Palestinians were killed. The UK described this violence as unacceptable, emphasising the need to protect civilians, uphold international law, and hold perpetrators accountable.
The UK also condemned threats to expand illegal settlements and outposts, stating that settlements are illegal under international law. The government reiterated its commitment to a negotiated two-state solution, with a secure Israel alongside a sovereign Palestinian state, as the only credible path to lasting peace.
