Jennifer Oldfield, a former civil servant and director of external relations at the United Nations Foundation, has died at the age of 46 from cancer. Her career included roles at the Department for Education and the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.
From 2011 to 2013, Oldfield was the news and content manager at the prime minister’s office, where she managed the No 10 website and Twitter account. She later moved to New York in April 2013 to work as a communications specialist at the United Nations, before joining the United Nations Foundation in 2017.
Born in Liverpool, Oldfield was educated at Rainhill high school and King’s College London. She is survived by her husband Guy, their son Levon, her father, and her siblings Claire and Andrew.
