Flight disruption is affecting travellers across the UK today, Monday 21 September, as the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) continues to experience a “technical issue” impacting airspace. The disruption is connected to an engineering fault located at NATS' Prestwick Centre.
Initially, the disruption affected airports north of Manchester. However, subsequent statements from airports south of Manchester indicate that hundreds of flights are now being grounded, with London City Airport among those impacted.
Manchester Airport issued a statement at 9:58 am, advising passengers to monitor updates from their airlines. London City Airport also shared a statement at 9:59 am, confirming they are experiencing disruption due to the NATS Prestwick issue and are working with NATS to resolve it.
