The UK government is implementing provisional anti-dumping duties on boom lifts imported from China, effective August 20, 2026. This action follows a recommendation from the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA), which found evidence that boom lifts from China were being sold at artificially low prices, causing harm to the UK market.
The anti-dumping duties will range from 16.25% to 71.74% on imports from Chinese producers. These provisional measures are expected to remain in place for up to six months, or until a definitive remedy is implemented.
The TRA launched its investigation on December 19, following an application from UK boom lift producer Niftylift Limited. The authority concluded that applying provisional measures now is in the UK's economic interest. The TRA will continue its full investigation while these temporary duties are in effect.
