A Bafta-winning documentary, which has followed the life of Mir Hussein in Afghanistan for 25 years, is set to air an updated version tonight. Titled '25 Years in Afghanistan', the film will be shown on ITV1 at 11:15pm.

Documentary-makers Phil Grabsky and Shoaib Sharifi began filming Mir Hussein and his family in 2002 when he was eight years old, coinciding with the arrival of US troops. They continued to follow him for two decades as he grew up and became a cameraman in Kabul.

The original film, 'My Childhood, My Country: 20 Years in Afghanistan', was released in 2021. The updated version revisits those years and incorporates new insights into the half-decade since the US and its allies departed and the Taliban regained control, showing everyday life within the context of the regime.

What this means for you: You can watch '25 Years in Afghanistan' tonight at 11:15pm on ITV1.
