The Vauxhall Mokka GSE, an electric crossover SUV, has been launched, reviving a classic performance nameplate. This model is the marque's first sporty electric crossover and shares a platform with other performance models in the Stellantis family.
The Mokka GSE is equipped with a 51kWh battery and an electric motor delivering 281hp and 254lb ft of torque to the front wheels via a Torsen mechanical limited-slip differential. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 124mph, making it the fastest fully electric Vauxhall to date.
The vehicle features bespoke components, including suspension lowered by 10mm, increased front and rear spring rates, and a 189 percent stiffer rear anti-roll bar. Standard tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport EV, with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres available as an option, which provide the maximum battery range of 209 miles.
Inside, the Mokka GSE includes bespoke heated sport seats with integrated headrests, Alcantara upholstery, yellow accent stitching, a heated steering wheel, aluminium pedals, and bespoke GSE digital gauges for the 10-inch central touchscreen. The boot capacity is 310 litres.
The Mokka GSE is compatible with DC rapid chargers up to 100kW, allowing an empty to 80 percent charge in approximately 30 minutes. Prices begin at £36,995, which is reduced to £35,495 after qualifying for a £1,500 UK Government Electric Car Grant.
