Vikki Campion, a News Corp columnist and wife of federal One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce, has started working as a part-time media adviser for One Nation in New South Wales. She confirmed to Guardian Australia that she began working for the party's state executive as a contractor this week, providing media advice.
Campion assisted NSW One Nation leader Mike Newman at a press conference on Tuesday. She stated that her marriage to Barnaby Joyce and her affiliation with One Nation are publicly known. She will continue to write her weekly column for the Saturday Telegraph.
Campion has worked as a political contractor for approximately six years across various campaigns and candidates. She reports to the NSW state executive, which she noted is separate from the federal One Nation. Her husband, Barnaby Joyce, joined One Nation last December.
