Melin Llynon, Wales's last operational windmill, completed a restoration project in 2024. Built in the 1770s, its sails are now turning once more to produce flour.

Earlier this year, the windmill's exterior was temporarily painted in the Welsh colours of red, green, and white for the Eisteddfod, a premier Welsh cultural festival, before returning to a creamy white. The site also features Iron Age roundhouse reconstructions, and visitors can purchase doughnuts and muffins made using the windmill's power.

Other notable Welsh locations include the prehistoric Gop mound near Prestatyn, Puffin Island off Anglesey, and Black Rock Sands near Porthmadog, where visitors can drive onto designated parts of the beach.
