A wanted man was arrested by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) on Saturday after a two-day stand-off at a property on Reservoir Street in Salford. Officers found the man sleeping on a roof and arrested him.
During the incident, two police officers suffered minor injuries. The 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing public nuisance, criminal damage, public order offences, burglary, and assaulting two police officers. He remains in police custody.
GMP stated they were asked by another force to arrest the man, who was wanted on recall to prison for other matters. Det Ch Insp Helen Bagnall said the force worked with partners to bring the matter to a safe conclusion, noting the extensive use of policing resources and the dangers officers face.
Some properties were damaged as a result of the man's actions, and GMP will work with partners to support affected residents, according to Det Ch Insp Bagnall.
