Linda Kitchen, 74, from Thornbury in South Gloucestershire, has initiated High Court proceedings against Singapore Airlines. Her husband, Geoff, 73, reportedly sustained fatal injuries during severe turbulence on a flight from London Heathrow in May 2024.
Lawyers for Ms Kitchen state the flight suddenly dropped approximately 6,000 feet over Myanmar, leading to an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand. Ms Kitchen herself broke her back during the incident.
Ms Kitchen said she was separated from her husband and learned of his death two days later. She spent 10 days in a hospital abroad before being airlifted back to Bristol, followed by further hospitalisation in the UK.
Anthe Korelidou, a specialist aviation lawyer representing Ms Kitchen, stated that the legal action aims to provide answers for Geoff's family and ensure thorough investigations are conducted.
