Wigan Warriors have taken a significant step towards winning the League Leaders' Shield after a 40-8 victory against Leeds Rhinos at Headingley. The win moves Wigan two points clear at the top of the Betfred Super League standings, leapfrogging their rivals.
Adam Keighran scored two early tries for Wigan, who led 16-8 at half-time. Further tries in the second half from Austin Daniel, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, and Jai Field, along with a hat-trick from Keighran, secured the win. Keighran also converted six goals.
Wigan Warriors have now achieved 14 consecutive Super League wins. If they match Leeds' result in the final game of the regular season on Friday, they will claim their second piece of silverware this year.
