The High Court dispute between estate agency franchisor Winkworth and its non-executive chair, Simon Agace, has been paused for one month. The two parties are holding talks aimed at reaching a settlement.
Winkworth confirmed that it and Mr Agace agreed to a consent order, which the High Court has sealed. The proceedings were launched by Winkworth over alleged breaches of confidentiality and other duties, though these allegations have not been determined by the court.
Undertakings previously given by Mr Agace in connection with an earlier consent order from 12 August 2026 will remain in force. A hearing scheduled for 5 October has been adjourned, with further proceedings stayed for one month.
Alongside the legal developments, Winkworth has stated that an external advisory firm is conducting an independent review of its board. Initial recommendations regarding board composition and corporate governance have been received, and the full findings are expected in the coming weeks.
