England's women's cricket team sealed their one-day international series against Ireland with a convincing six-wicket victory in Derby on Thursday. Seamer Issy Wong was the star performer, taking a career-best five wickets for 33 runs.

Wong, opening the bowling in Lauren Bell's absence, demonstrated accuracy and control, dismissing Ireland captain Gaby Lewis and then tearing through the lower-middle order. Ireland were bowled out for 165, with Amy Hunter anchoring their innings with 64 runs before becoming Wong's fifth victim.

In response, England chased down the target with 27 overs to spare. Freya Kemp and Dani Gibson guided England to a rapid win, with Gibson hitting two maximums to conclude the match in the 23rd over.

The series will conclude at Worcester on Sunday.
