Zack Polanski has stated he will continue as Green Party leader regardless of the outcome of the Holborn and St Pancras by-election. He expressed confidence in potentially winning the seat, despite the party being considered underdogs.

  • Zack Polanski has confirmed he will remain Green Party leader even if he loses the Holborn and St Pancras by-election.
  • The by-election follows Keir Starmer's resignation as MP for the constituency, which he won with a majority of over 11,000 in 2024.
  • Polanski is expected to be selected as the Green Party's candidate for the by-election.

Zack Polanski has announced he will continue as Green Party leader even if he is unsuccessful in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election. Speaking to the Guardian while canvassing in the north London constituency, Polanski described the Greens as underdogs but expressed confidence in his ability to defeat Labour.

The seat became vacant after Keir Starmer resigned as MP, having previously won it with a majority of more than 11,000 in the 2024 general election. Starmer announced his departure from parliament last Tuesday, following his resignation as prime minister in June.

Polanski is not yet formally the Green Party candidate for Holborn and St Pancras, but local members are anticipated to select him. He has been actively campaigning in the constituency, including joining volunteers in King's Cross over the weekend, marking his fourth visit to the area in a week.
