Homes England, the government's housing and regeneration agency, has confirmed 33 strategic partners for the new £39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP). These partners will receive grant funding to deliver social and affordable homes across England, outside of London.
The SAHP is described as the largest investment in social and affordable housing in a generation. The confirmed partners will work with Homes England over the ten-year programme, joining other organisations also supporting delivery through an alternative funding route known as Continuous Market Engagement (CME).
Amy Rees, Chief Executive of Homes England, stated that the strong demand for SAHP funding demonstrates the sector's ambition to deliver thousands of social and affordable homes for communities across England. She added that the Homes England team is focused on collaborating with partners and regional leaders to deliver on government policy and ensure the investment creates high-quality homes and thriving places.
