Work on a £4.5m upgrade at Stevenage station is making strong progress and remains on track for completion by the end of the year, Network Rail has announced.
The major investment will deliver upgraded lighting, improved accessibility features and enhanced station facilities for passengers using the busy commuter hub.
Network Rail said the upgrade aims to improve the overall passenger experience and ensure Stevenage station can meet growing demand from the region's commuters.
The project forms part of Network Rail's broader investment programme across the UK's rail network, with the organisation committing significant funds in recent years to upgrading station facilities nationwide.
The Stevenage improvements are expected to benefit the local community by providing better transport links and facilities for residents and businesses in the area.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We are committed to delivering high-quality transport infrastructure that meets the needs of our passengers. The upgrade at Stevenage station is a key part of our efforts to improve the passenger experience and provide a better service for our customers."
