San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested in Ohio after using a website to secure the services of a sex worker for $140. The individual turned out to be an undercover police officer.
York was fined $1,150 and spent a night in jail following the arrest. He now faces an investigation by the NFL under the league's personal conduct policy.
Separately, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan suffered a serious concussion, broken nose, hand, and ribs in a July car crash. Shanahan admitted fault, stating he took his eyes off the road to search for his dropped phone. The 49ers organisation did not disclose details of the crash or Shanahan's injuries for 11 days.
Another incident involved Daejon Love, who allegedly defrauded 26 women out of $1.3m by posing as a 49ers wide receiver. Love, who is not a 49er, was arrested last month by the FBI and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
