Aaron Sorkin's latest film, 'The Social Reckoning', is set to be released in cinemas on 9 October. The film, described as a quasi-sequel to David Fincher's 'The Social Network', sees Sorkin take on directing duties in addition to writing.
Jeremy Strong portrays Mark Zuckerberg in the new production, a role previously played by Jesse Eisenberg, who declined to return. The narrative draws from 'The Facebook Files' series by Jeff Horwitz and incorporates elements of Zuckerberg's testimony to Congress.
The film reportedly focuses on information regarding Facebook's algorithm, which allegedly rewarded post reshares and promoted extremist content. Data engineer-turned-whistleblower Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison, is depicted as providing proof that the company was aware it was radicalising users.
