Actors Alan Cumming and Shirley Henderson, who first met on the STV drama 'Shadow of the Stone', are currently starring together in 'The History of Paper' at Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Cumming, now the artistic director of the theatre, suggested casting older actors to play younger versions of themselves for the production.

Henderson, 60, and Cumming, 61, channel their long-standing connection in the play, which tells the story of a couple through the paper they collect. The musical, originally a radio play by Oliver Emanuel and Gareth Williams, was first performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024.

Following its run at Pitlochry Festival Theatre until 12 September, 'The History of Paper' will move to Dundee Rep Theatre, where it will be performed from 16-19 September.
