A defence barrister for Alan Jones has told a Sydney court that one of the broadcaster's alleged victims fabricated details of alleged indecent assaults at a Fitzroy Falls farm. The barrister suggested the details were invented to "humiliate" and "smear" the former media personality.
Complainant J, aged in his 40s, is the first alleged victim to give evidence in the trial at Downing Centre local court. Jones, 85, has pleaded not guilty to 22 indecent assault and sexual touching charges involving six men.
During cross-examination on Friday, Complainant J denied inventing details about Jones's genitals to humiliate him. He also denied that his account of "penis wiggling" was an attempt to smear Mr Jones.
The defence barrister alleged that J was forgetting key details and making up his evidence as he went along. She also pointed to alleged inconsistencies between his police statement and his evidence in court regarding his stays at the property and details of alleged incidents.
Complainant J maintained his account, denying that a claimed kiss at a pigsty was a fabrication. He also disagreed with the suggestion that he had guessed details about Jones's genitals.
