Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has declined to guarantee that Enzo Fernández will remain at Stamford Bridge, as Manchester City reportedly weigh up a move for the midfielder.

Fernández's future is uncertain, even though Chelsea's unofficial deadline for written bids of £120m for the 25-year-old Argentina international has already passed. Manchester City have targeted Fernández for their midfield rebuild following Rodri's transfer to Barcelona and are considering a bid before the transfer window closes.

Alonso stated, "Enzo is a Chelsea player," and noted his good training attitude. Fernández is expected to be in the squad for Chelsea's Premier League opener against Fulham on Monday night.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Bournemouth's Alex Scott and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton as potential replacements if Fernández departs. The club has already had one offer for 22-year-old Scott rejected, with Bournemouth reportedly unwilling to sell this summer.
