Apple has today launched a new Apple TV 4K streaming device, priced at $299. The device includes an upgraded A19 chip and integrates with an updated version of Siri AI for content discovery.
A key new feature is the inclusion of three far-field microphones, allowing users to issue voice commands directly to Siri without needing the remote or a paired HomePod. The remote itself has also been updated to include a small speaker, designed to help users locate it if it gets misplaced.
The company stated that the new Apple TV 4K can facilitate a four-speaker surround sound experience when used with HomePod mini 2 or HomePod 2 speakers. Consumers can pre-order the new Apple TV 4K starting today, with the device becoming available on November 13.
