Arsenal's press conference ahead of their Champions League opener away to Napoli was cancelled on Tuesday evening. The cancellation followed delays to the team's flight, caused by air traffic control issues across UK airports.
Manager Mikel Arteta and defender Riccardo Calafiori had been scheduled to speak to journalists in Naples. The squad remained at the club's training ground during the delay and were not expected to arrive in Naples until approximately 9:30 pm local time.
Defender Jurrien Timber, 25, has travelled with the squad as he closes in on a return from groin surgery. He has not played since the Champions League final last season. However, fellow defender Cristhian Mosquera remains a doubt for the Napoli clash due to a muscle injury.
Opponents Napoli will be without Scotland international midfielder Scott McTominay, who underwent corrective surgery for a minor heart issue. He is expected to rest for two weeks before resuming training.
Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions, have started their season with three consecutive wins in the league. Napoli, managed by Massimiliano Allegri, have had a more challenging start, with one win and two defeats in Serie A.
