This triumph extends Sabalenka's remarkable run at the tournament to 19 consecutive wins, having not lost since the 2023 final. She also makes history as the first woman since Serena Williams in 2016 to reach six consecutive semi-finals at Flushing Meadows.
The victory temporarily maintains her world number one ranking. However, she will be overtaken if world number two Elena Rybakina defeats Zheng Qinwen on Wednesday. Sabalenka is now set to face either American third seed Jessica Pegula or her compatriot Emma Navarro, seeded 26th, as she aims for a fourth consecutive US Open final.
