Robert Boardman has resigned as Chief Financial Officer of Arup, the engineering, design, and professional services consultancy. His departure, which was not publicly announced, leaves the firm without a finance chief.
Companies House filings indicate that Mr Boardman, who served nearly seven years in the role, resigned as a director from all Arup entities on 13 July. His profile has also been removed from the firm’s executive board webpage.
Arup confirmed Mr Boardman's exit to City AM but has not yet named a new chief financial officer. The firm's global revenue for the financial year ending 31 March 2025 was £2.16bn, a decrease from £2.20bn in the previous year. Operating profit stood at 2.7 per cent, and headcount dropped by 3 per cent to over 17,400.
In the UK, Arup generated £652.2m in revenue, a decline of more than five per cent from the prior year. The firm's recent UK annual report also revealed £19.8m in "headcount reduction costs" for the financial year ending 31 March 2025.
