A new six-part horror-comedy series titled 'Gnomes', featuring Asa Butterfield, is scheduled to premiere in the UK on 16 October. The series has been described as 'Gremlins meets Hot Fuzz' and centres on murderous garden gnomes.
The show, created by Joel Kohn and written by Tegan Higginbotham and Paul P Verhoeven, is set in the town of Nompton, where garden gnomes become violent as the community prepares for a "Gnome-a-Palooza" festival. Butterfield, known for his role as Otis in 'Sex Education', plays senior constable Arnold Kipps.
The series also features Darren Gilshenan as Mayor Lachlan Morrison, Tegan Higginbotham as constable Josie Leeds, and Matt Okine as constable Devon Raki. Megan Smart plays constable Ellie McKay, Kipps' ex-partner.
