King Charles visited a hi-tech music workshop for young people today, a joint effort between his King's Trust charity and technology firm Apple. Pop icon Sir Elton John was a special guest, sitting alongside the King as they listened to a performance by singer-songwriter Skye Newman.

The event took place at a music hall within Apple's headquarters, located in the recently restored Battersea Power Station in south west London. The project aims to equip young people with practical skills for careers in the creative industries.

The King was introduced to Prophet Guillory, Apple Music's head of artist services, tools and community, who was recognised for his work as a mentor. Young performers at the event also met the King, with one musician highlighting the challenge of securing funding for creative ideas.

This music workshop is the latest collaboration between Apple and the King's Trust Creative Labs. The King's Trust, now in its 50th year, was established to offer opportunities to deprived and marginalised young people, having assisted 1.3 million individuals across the UK.

Why this matters: The collaboration between the King's Trust and Apple highlights the evolving demand for work skills, including technology use, for young people pursuing careers in music and creative industries.
