Aston Villa have announced the departure of women's manager Natalia Arroyo. The decision was made on Monday night, with the team currently sitting second-bottom of the Women's Super League, having secured just two points from their opening four matches.
Arroyo's tenure began in January 2025 when she signed a three-and-a-half-year contract. After guiding Villa to safety and a sixth-place finish in her initial partial season, the team finished ninth in her first full campaign. However, a run of four consecutive defeats marked the end of that season, and the poor form has continued into the current campaign, with two losses and two draws.
Brian Sørensen, who serves as the women’s technical adviser, will step in as temporary manager. His first match in charge will be the Subway Players Cup tie against Newcastle on Wednesday.
