University of North Carolina head football coach Bill Belichick, 74, has strongly refuted what he called "ridiculous" rumours regarding his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, 25, seeking a behind-the-scenes role with the team.
Belichick addressed the speculation in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, confirming that Hudson has no official role in the football program. He clarified that an email asking UNC staff to copy Hudson on requests for his personal appearances was intended to coordinate his schedule outside the university, not for football-related matters.
The coach claimed this email was subsequently leaked and mischaracterised as evidence of Hudson's involvement in all his activities, which he labelled "just a flat-out lie." A university spokesperson also confirmed to the WSJ that Hudson holds no football-related responsibilities.
Belichick, who took over at UNC in December 2024 after 24 seasons with the New England Patriots, stated that Hudson assists with scheduling some of his personal, non-North Carolina related activities. Hudson is Chief Operating Officer for Belichick Productions and manages his personal brand through TCE Rights Management LLC.
